Barcelona will host their rivals at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium. Camp Nou, Barcelona’s historic home turf, is undergoing renovations.
The league calendar was unveiled on Thursday, June 22. Barcelona will open its title defense at Getafe with the first round of games on August 12-13. Real Madrid visit Athletic Bilbao in the opening round. Barcelona will travel to Madrid for the second Clasico on April 20-21.
One of the most exciting storylines this year is the possibility of seeing Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid. The Carlo Ancelotti-coached side are trying to pull off a heist by signing the France and PSG superstar. In 2021, PSG had declined a bid of $190 million from Real Madrid for Mbappe.
Real Madrid will also be without France's Karim Benzema, who has moved to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad for a reported £172 million per season.
As for Barcelona, they are on the verge of signing former Manchester City skipper Ilkay Gundogan. The German will join the Catalan side on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of this month.
