AUS Vs ENG, Ashes: Jhye Richardson's 5/42 Sets Up Australia's 275-Run Win Vs England, Take 2-0 Lead - Highlights

Nine-nil. Australia maintained their perfect record in day-night Test matches with a 275-run win over England in the second Ashes Test here in Adelaide. Starting Day 5 on Monday at 82/4, England lost Ollie Pope and Ben Stokes early. But a 61-run stand between Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes in more than 30 overs frustrated the Australians. Jhye Richardson broke the deadlock dismissing Woakes. Buttler, who dropped Man of the Match Marnus Labuschagne twice on Day 1, stood like a 'Wall' defying the Australian attack. However, it was Buttler's hit wicket, that pretty much sealed the victory for the hosts. Buttler was out for 26 after staying in the middle for 207 balls. Richardson dismissed James Anderson - his fifth in the innings - to fetch the win.  Australia head into the third Test starting in Melbourne on December 26 with a 2-0 series lead. I was disappointed for not making it big despite getting a few chances in the first innings but getting my first Ashes ton was terrific. David Warner batted really well.  I have played with (Michael) Neser and Jhye (Richardson) in Shield cricket a few weeks ago, and they have a unique set of skills.

Australia have taken 2-0 lead in the Ashes series. England are all out for 192 after James Anderson was caught by Cameron Green for 2. Jhye Richardson completes his maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket.  Australia win by 275 runs.

Big blow for England. Jos Buttler is out, hit wicket. He departs for a valiant 207-ball 26. England 182/9. James Anderson and Stuart Broad are currently in the middle. Can these two survive 23 overs?

England continue to play the defence game.  Both Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes stand like a wall in from of the Australian attack.  A breakthrough may change the course of the game in all likelihood. England 162/6

Hello and welcome to the final day of the second Ashes 2021-22 Test match between Australia and England. It has been a highly entertaining game throughout the first four days. Australia have won all their eight day-night Test matches played so far. Can the hosts make it 9-0 today?      

Joe Root's dismissal, caught Alex Carey bowled Mitchell Starc for 24, at the stroke of stumps on Day 4 on Sunday, told England's story in the Adelaide Test so far. Australia's pace bowled attacked like a pack and for the second time in this Ashes Test, has beaten the daylights out of the England team.

Ben Stokes faces an enormous challenge on Monday. The all-rounder, still trying to find his feet back in international cricket, has five other teammates to force an improbable draw.

In modern cricket, there exists no 'tail' and England still have some batting to come with specialist batsmen Ollie Pope and Jos Buttler to follow. Can Buttler make amends for the crucial catches he dropped that enabled Australia pile the runs?

England (82 for four) trail by a massive 386 runs. To bat out three full sessions against Mitchell Starc, Jhye Richardson, debutant Michael Nesser and Cameron Green will be a big ask. And don't forget Nathan Lyon, who can extract purchase from a fifth-day track.
