After the disappointment of missing out on a semifinal spot, India registered a thumping nine-wicket win over Namibia to sign off their ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 campaign in Dubai, UAE on Monday. The match also marked the end of a cracking Ravi Shastri-Virat Kohli era. Shastri will be replaced by Rahul Dravid as the head coach of the national team, while Rohit Sharma is expected to take over the T20 reigns, and also possibly ODI captaincy, from Kohli. Under the captaincy of Kohli and Shastri's guidance, India have stamped their authority as the top Test-playing nation. The skipper himself is often hailed as the greatest ambassador of the traditional format of the game. But India have failed to win an ICC trophy during their reign. At the historic Dubai International Stadium, Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl first in his final T20 game as the captain of the national team. Spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets each to restrict Namibia to a 132/8. Then, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul hit fifties as India registered a comfortable win with 28 balls to spare. India finished Group 2 in the Super 12 stage with three wins in five, with defeats against Pakistan and New Zealand effectively ending their semi-final prospects. Namibia, in their debut outing, have impressed everyone with some fascinating cricket. Catch highlights and scores of IND vs NAM cricket match here:
