Ligue 1: Mbappe Helps PSG Hold Clermont Foot 1-1

Paris Saint-Germain needed a late intervention from star forward Kylian Mbappe to rescue a 1-1 draw against Ligue 1's bottom club Clermont Foot. With bigger tests to come – notably the first leg of their Champions League clash with Barcelona on Wednesday – Luis Enrique named a youthful PSG line-up and handed full debuts to a pair of 17-year-olds, Yoram Zague and Senny Mayulu.

But the Spaniard would still have expected to comfortably beat a side who kicked off six points adrift of even the relegation play-off place. However, he had to summon Mbappe from the bench with 25 minutes remaining and the France striker duly set up Goncalo Ramos to secure a point.

Jaipur Pitch Didn't Seem Two-Paced: Ajay Jadeja

Virat Kohli had said during the innings break in the RR vs RCB game that the Jaipur track was two-paced, making strokeplay difficult. But former India ODI captain Ajay Jadeja felt that the manner in which the star batter batted, there seemed to be very little demons present in the 22-yard strip that hosted match 19 of Indian Premier League 2024.

"He (Kohli) started out so well. He hit a couple of boundaries in the first few overs, and you knew you were watching something special tonight. The only surprising thing was him speaking about how the deliveries were not carrying through on this pitch, but the way he batted, we didn't see any shortcomings in the pitch," Jadeja, a 'Jio Cinema' IPL expert said.
