India seamer Mohammed Shami was in red-hot form on the field during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. And just days after the tournament, Shami exhibited good form off the field too, as he rescued a road accident victim in Nainital. Shami turned life-saver as the victim's car fell down from the hill road right in front of his car, and the talented speedster was able to extricate the person safely. (Cricket News)
Shami posted a video of the incident on Instagram, in which he can be seen helping the victim. You can watch the video below.
“He’s so lucky god gave him 2nd life. His car fell down from the hill road near Nainital just in front of my car. We took him out very safely,” Shami posted on Instagram.
Despite playing just seven games, Shami was the leading wicket-taker of the 2023 ODI World Cup with 24 scalps at an astonishing average of 10.70 and strike-rate of 12.20. His fabulous display includes three 5-wicket hauls (one of which was a seven-for against New Zealand in the semi-final) and a 4-for in the campaign.
However, despite his heroics, him and the team couldn't win the Cup, as they were outplayed in the final by Pat Cummins' Australia.
