Muay Thai King Tawanchai To Meet Davit Kiria In Kickboxing Thriller At ONE Fight Night 13

The ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion's road to two-sport glory officially begins on August 4!

ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai will begin his journey to two-sport glory on Friday, August 4.

That evening, the Thai phenom will collide with Georgian striker Davit Kiria in a featherweight kickboxing clash at ONE Fight Night 13: Allazov vs. Grigorian on Prime Video, which broadcasts live in U.S. primetime from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ever since his ONE Championship debut in May 2021, Tawanchai has been surrounded by hype. And thus far, he has delivered.

The 24-year-old Bangkok resident has impressed the global fan base with a series of highlight-reel knockouts in Muay Thai competition, having finished Sean Clancy, Saemapetch Fairtex, and Niclas Larsen in devastating fashion.

But his greatest achievement came in September 2022 when he dethroned longtime ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee to claim the gold.

Tawanchai then successfully defended his crown five months later, stopping Jamal Yusupov – who was the #2-ranked contender at that time – just 49 seconds into the tilt with a bone-crunching leg kick.

Now, he will bring his near-flawless striking repertoire and jaw-dropping 129-31-2 record into the kickboxing realm, where he hopes to achieve that rare “champ-champ” status.

For his first assignment, he draws Kiria, a battle-hardened veteran who at one point was considered the top lightweight kickboxer on the planet.

Kiria, a former Glory Lightweight World Champion and Kunlun Fight World Max Tournament Champion, has had a tough run in the promotion’s featherweight division, which is considered the most stacked weight class in the entire combat sports industry today.

Though he defeated Enriko Kehl in an electric three-round war, he fell to pound-for-pound greats Giorgio Petrosyan and Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong.

Following his loss to Moroccan prodigy Mohammed Boutasaa in May 2022, Kiria remained busy on the European circuit, where he picked up a pair of decisive victories. Now, he returns to the global stage, looking to make a statement at the featherweight Muay Thai king’s expense.
