Netherlands have finally opened their account in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The Dutch were winless coming into the South Africa fixture but an all-round peformance saw them beat a Full ICC Member for the first time in a World Cup (Netherlands had tied their Qualifier match against West Indies and won it via Super Over). Thanks to Scott Edwards' 78 and some brilliant all-round display from Roelof van der Merwe (2/34, 29) saw the Dutch beat the Proteas by 38 runs in a rain-curtailed match at Dharamsala on Tuesday. Up next for them are Sri Lanka, who are the only winless team in this tournament so far. However, the Islanders did put up some fight with the ball against the Aussies but it all came too little too late. (NED Vs SL Scorecard | Key Battles | Full Coverage)
