The Indian mixed archery team will battle it out for a historic bronze medal after going down to South Korea in the Paris Olympics semi-finals on Friday (August 1). The duo of Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara will face the loser of the second semi-final between United States and Germany for third place. (Medal Table | Schedule & Results | Full Coverage)

India have never bagged an Olympic medal before, and this will be their shot at glory. If they win, Ankita and Dhiraj will end the nation's 36-year wait for an Olympic medal in archery.

Dhiraj and Ankita lost 38-36, 35-38, 37-38, 38-39 to their South Korean opponents Lim Sihyeon and Kim Woo-jin.

Earlier, Ankita and Dhiraj had produced an excellent performance to trump Spain 5-3 in the quarter-finals. They had defeated Indonesia 5-1 before that in the round of 16.
