Ramita Jindal Final Highlights, Paris Olympics: Indian Shooter Finishes Seventh

Asian Games medallist Ramita Jindal came up with a score of 145.3 after 14 shots to finish seventh in the women's 10m air rifle final at Paris Olympic Games 2024. When Is Ramita Jindal's Final?

The women's 10m air rifle medal round is slated for a 1pm (India time) start. Eight shooters have qualified, and like in Manu Bhaker's event yesterday, they will be serially eliminated until the top three, and then the gold medallist are decided.

Who Is Ramita Jindal?

Ramita, who hails from the Ladwa district in Kurukshetra, has an affinity for shooting since she was 13 years old. Her journey began in 2016 when her father Arvind Jindal, a tax advisor, took her to the Karan Shooting Range in Kurukshetra. A student of Hansraj College in Delhi University, Ramita bagged bronze at the Hangzhou Asian Games last year. Know more about her in our report here.

Ramita Jindal's Final: What The Field Looks Like

The eight-member field in the women's 10m air rifle final has representation from eight different countries - China, United States, Kazakhstan, Korea, France, Norway, Switzerland, and of course, India.

10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Qualification Underway

Minutes before Ramita's final, her compatriots are in action for the qualification round of the 10m air pistol mixed team event. Manu Bhaker is back in the shooting range after her bronze-bagging show yesterday, now alongside Sarabjot Singh. Arjun Singh Cheema and Rhythm Sangwan is the other Indian pairing.

Loud cheer rings out in the arena as Manu Bhaker is introduced. What's more, India's first shooting gold medallist Abhinav Bindra is there to kick-start proceedings. The action gets underway.

Ramita 4th After Five Shots

Ramita has scored a total of 52.5 after the first five shots to be placed fourth. China's Yuting Huang leads with an aggregate of 53.0.

Ramita Down To 7th After Stage 1

Some exemplary shooting in the second stage has led to Ramita falling down the order. She is now placed seventh with a total of 104.0.

Indian Survives First Elimination

Ramita clears her first hurdle by pipping Norway's Jeanette Hegg, who is eliminated and finishes eighth.

Ramita Goes Down Fighting

Ramita's pursuit of a 10m air rifle individual Olympics medal ends. She is eliminated in a tense shoot-off with Kazakhstan's Alexandra Le. The Indian finishes seventh in the final.

Final Standings

Korea's Hyojin Ban takes the gold medal, pipping China's Yuting Huang in a shoot-off. Huang ends with silver, while Switzerland's Audrey Gogniat finishes with bronze.

10m Air Pistol Mixed Team: Manu-Sarabjot To Fight For Bronze

Over in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh finish third and qualify for the bronze medal play-off . They notch up a score of 580 behind leaders Si Tarhan and Y Dikec of Turkey and the second-placed team of Z Arunovic and D Mikec from Serbia.
