Swapnil Kusale will have the opportunity to give Team India their third medal at the Paris Olympics and the match is set for a 1:00 PM IST start.
Swapnil Kusale earned 590 from a possible 600 to end up at the seventh place in the qualification round and book a place in the final. He is the first Indian to be in the 50m Rifle 3P Final.

Here is what you need to know about the 50m Rifle 3 Positions
Athletes shoot at the target from three different positions — kneeling, prone and standing. Each participant fires 40 shots in each of the three aforementioned positions within a timeframe of two hours and 45 minutes.
India's other challenger in the event, the Asian Games silver medalist Aishwarya Tomar, could not make it to the final after he finished 11th with 589 points. Top eight made it to the final and Kusale finished seventh.

Here is how it will go on in the final
All the 8 finalists will first shoot 40 shots (15 in kneeling, 15 in prone, and 10 in standing). Then there are five more shots in standing, where each shot is an elimination shot.
Action begins at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre.
First series over. Swapnil is at the seventh spot after five shots with a score of 50.8.
After 10 shots in the kneeling position we have Swapnil at the sixth spot now. He has score of 101.7.
Kneeling shots are over now. Swapnil Kusale continues to be at sixth with 153.3 points. He remains just 0.6 behind the medal zone.
We will move into the prone position round now and the shooters have only seven minutes to get ready for that.
Hegg Jon-Hermann of Norway is at the top with 155.3.

Swapnil Kusale rises to fifth. He has now a total score of 206 after the first five shots of prone position. He is still 0.7 behind the medal zone
Swapnil Kusale remains at fifth after 25 shots, one full point behind the top three. Kusale got 52.2 from these five shots, 0.5 less than the first five shots in this position.
Swapnil Kusale remains at fifth after the prone round is over. So in 30 shots, Kusale has amassed 310.1 and is 1.1 points behind the top three.
Jon-Hermann Hegg of Norway continues to be at the top with a score of 312.1. China's Yukun Liu is at the second spot just 0.6 behind the Norwegian. Ukraine's Serhiy Kulish is at number three with a total score of 311.1
Now, we move into the standing position which will be followed by the elimination round.
Here we go into the standing series. Only 10 shots in this series and then we will have the elimination shots.

Swapnil Kusale is the second best shooter in the first series with 51.1 and he has now jumped up to the fourth sport just 0.1 away from the medal zone.
At the top, China's Yukun Liu has replaced the leader Jon-Hermann Hegg of Norway who is now second.

Swapnil Kusale has jumped up to the third spot now. India could be getting its third medal in Paris and Kusale remains at the cusp of history.
Meanwhile, Serhiy Kulish of Ukraine is at the top now.
We move into the elimination zone now.

Slow and steady wins the race they say and this is exactly what Swapnil Kusale does today. He kept going, kept going and at the end is the third best in the field and has taken a bronze.
India's third medal at this Paris Olympics and again it is a shooter.

A huge achievement for Maharashtra's Swapnil Kusale today in Paris. He followed his approach from the qualification round. Kusale started slow, but was consistent throughout and as soon as the standing series began, the 28-year-old jumped ahead. In the end, he finished with bronze.
