Azhar Ali and Imam-ul-Haq extended their partnership for the second wicket to 208 runs before Imam fell to Pat Cummins on 157. Azhar Ali then joined hands with Babar Azam and the duo together stitched 101 runs for the third wicket before babar got run out. In a bid to boost run rate, Azhar too went back to pavilion on 185 after getting out on the ball of Marnus Labuschagne. Pakistan declared at 476/4 but they were certainly late in planning as bad light forced the game to stop after Australia were 5/0 after the 1st over.
