On the eighth day of the Paris Paralympics, September 5, Thursday, India earned a bronze medal in judo thanks to Kapil Parmar. With this, India’s tally now stands at 25—comprising five gold, nine silver, and eleven bronze medals—positioning the country 16th in the overall standings.
Yesterday, around 63 medal events were held, including 19 in para athletics, 13 in swimming, and more in other sports. India fared in judo, shooting, archery, athletics, and powerlifting.

India’s medal hopes are focused on the following athletes today:
In para athletics, Dipesh Kumar will begin action in the Men’s Javelin Throw F54 Final, while Praveen Kumar will showcase his skills in the Men’s High Jump T64 Final. Bhavanaben Ajabaji Chaudhary will represent India in the Women’s Javelin Throw F46 Final, and Soman Rana and Hokato Hotozhe Sema will vie for medals in the Men’s Shot Put F57 Final.
In powerlifting, Kasthuri Rajamani will be the sole Indian competitor, aiming for a medal in the Women’s Up to 67kg Final.
The India-interest events of Paris Paralympics Day 9 will be telecast on the Sports 18 TV channels in the country. The events will be live streamed on the Jio Cinema app and website in India.

India begin today's action at in Para Canoe with Yash Kumar participating in Men’s Kayak Single 200m - KL1 Heats.
Unfortunately, the Indian finished last in the KL1 Heats, clocking 1:03.28.
India's Simran is in action in the women’s 200m T20 Round 1 Heats 5 with Venezuela’s Alejandra Pérez and Valentina Petrillo of Italy. Yesterday, she missed on a bronze medal finishing fourth and last in thein the women's 100 T12 final clocking 12.31 seconds.
Simran, with her guide Abhay Singh, won her heat with a time of 25.41 seconds, securing her spot in the semi-final. The semi-final is scheduled to take place at 11:12 PM IST.
india's Dipesh Kumar is in action in the men's javelin throw F54 final. As this a seated-throw event, para athletes will take all their six attempts in one go. The Indian Prachi Yadav finished fourth in her heats in the Women’s Va’a Single 200m - VL2 event with a time of 1:06.83. she has qualified for semifinals. Only the winners of each heat reaches the medal round that is Final A, others go to the semifinals, where they play for the ranking.

The gold medal-winning archer Harvinder Singh and sprinter Preeti Pal, who made history by becoming the first-ever Indian woman to win two medals at the Paralympics, will be India's flag bearers during the closing ceremony of the Paris Games on Sunday.
India's Prachi Yadav and Yash Kumar qualified for the semifinals of women's VL2 200m and men's KL1 200m after finishing fourth and sixth in their respective heats at the Paris Paralympics in Paris on Friday.
