Premier League 2022-23: Arsenal Score Five Past Nottingham Forest To Go Top Of The Table – In Pics

Arsenal thumped Nottingham Forest 5-0 at the Emirates stadium to sling shot back on top of the table after their win on Sunday. Brazilian attacker Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring for the Gunners in the fifth minute, giving the host a 1-0 advantage. Bukayao Saka played an early cross as Martinelli headed home. In the second half, goals came in plenty as Reiss Nelson’s brace in three minutes sealed the deal for Arsenal. Thomas Partey scored in the 57th minute to further inflict misery to the feeble Nottingham defence and Martin Odegaard netted the fifth goal in the 78th minute, navigating through the horde of Nottingham players before smashing the ball in the back of the net. Striker Gabriel Jesus wasn’t on the scoresheet but he turned creator, assisting two goals. Nelson shined throughout the game, scoring a brace and assisting Partey’s goal. The only downside to Arsenal’s performance was Saka’s ankle injury, which forced him off in the 27th minute.
