On the sidelines though, India's ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had a light-hearted exchange with former South African pacer Makhaya Ntini, who is also part of the SuperSport broadcasting team. In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Ashwin can be seen conversing with Ntini with the latter singing a famous track from Hindi cinema.

Ntini sings 'Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayal ata hai' to which Ashwin is seen laughing uncontrollably.

Talking about Ashwin, though he did not make it to the final Test match's playing XI, he did end up earning a nomination for the ICC Men's Test Cricketer Of The Year 2023. 'Ash' is nominated alongside the likes of Usman Khawaja, Travis Head and Joe Root.

Ashwin had a glorious 2023 wherein he scalped 41 wickets from seven Tests with majority of it coming in the Border-Gavaskar trophy wherein he claimed 35 scalps in four Tests.
