After CSK lost against Punjab Kings in an IPL 2021 encounter on Thursday, Deepak Chahar took everyone present at the stadium by surprise when he took out a ring from his pocket and went down on his knees to propose to girlfriend Jaya Bhardwaj at the VIP pavilion.
In a video posted on his Instagram handle, Deepak Chahar is seen talking chatting with friends before proposing to Jaya, who is former Bigg Boss contestant Sidharth Bhardwaj’s sister. Jaya is pleasantly surprised and hugs the CSK bowler to show her 'acceptance.'
CSK skipper MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva are also seen in the frame. Someone among the guests present was heard screaming, “She (Jaya) said yes”.
A delighted Chahar and Jaya embraced each other and even posed for pictures. The cricketer captioned the video on his Instagram saying, “Special Moment.”
That wasn’t all. The Chennai Super Kings team management also prepared a special cake for the newly engaged duo at the hotel. CSK are already in the IPL 2021 playoffs. (POINTS TABLE)
Upon arriving at the hotel, both Chahar and Jaya cut a cake in the presence of everyone. Deepak especially was smashed with cake, a ritual which is usually seen when a team returns to their base after securing a win in the IPL.
Jaya hails from Delhi and works with a corporate firm. Deepak Chahar is also the younger sibling of Bollywood model and actress Malti Chahar and elder brother of Rahul Chahar, who plays for Mumbai Indians.
