India, after blanking New Zealand 5-0 in the T20Is, suffered series defeats in ODIs (0-3) and Tests (0-2) in their last engagement. And now, they face a confident South African side, who are coming off a 3-0 whitewash against Australia at home.

The South African team arrived in India on Monday (March 9). The visiting team is accompanied by Cricket South Africa's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Shuaib Manjra, due to the prevalent novel coronavirus threat.
