India clinched three medals on Friday after drawing blanks on the last two days. Early in the morning, Avani Lekhara claimed the bronze medal in the Women’s 50m air rifle 3 positions SH1. It was followed by the silver, with Praveen Kumar finishing second in the Men’s High Jump T64 event. Later in the afternoon, recurve archer Harvinder Singh bagged the bronze in the men’s individual open category. For the record, Avani, who earlier won the gold in the 10m air rifle SH1 event, became the first Indian woman to win multiple medals from a Paralympic Games, and the first Indian to win multiple medals in a single edition of the Olympics/Paralympics.
