Superball Continues Perfect Run, Ghazali Earns Six-Figure Contract At ONE Friday Fights 36

Catch up on all the thrilling action from Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on October 6.

Before ONE Fight Night 15: Le vs. Freymanov descends on Lumpinee Boxing Stadium later tonight, the legendary venue in Bangkok, Thailand, hosted a precursor spectacle that showed why ONE Championship’s weekly offering is always unmissable.

ONE Friday Fights 36 featured massive finishes across its 12-fight MMA and Muay Thai card, and the battles that went the distance were also thrilling to watch.

In case you missed any of the action, here’s a recap of everything that went down live in Asia primetime on Friday, October 6.

Superball’s Striking Clinic Sees Off Lobo

Superball TDed99 and Julio Lobo thrilled the watching world with a heart-stopping 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai contest in the evening’s main event.

The 26-year-old Thai dominated the early stages with massive left kicks that forced his Brazilian foe to reconsider every time he attempted to stand and bang from proximity.

Superball found further strength knowing he had cast doubt in Lobo’s mind, and mere seconds into round two, he momentarily shut the debuting star’s lights off with a ferocious right hook.

He made numerous attempts to land a killer blow in the third frame, but it was Lobo who took the fight to him. The Phuket Fight Club star put his hands to good use with a bevy of body shots that genuinely threatened Superball’s chances at victory.

However, that late surge didn’t sway the judges, and all three handed the TDed99 representative the win to send him to 3-0 in ONE Friday Fights and 73-21 overall.

Pettonglor Outstrikes Duangsompong In Three-Round Battle

Pettonglor Sitluangpeenumfon looked to follow up on a terrific debut in ONE Friday Fights earlier this year against Duangsompong Jitmuangnon, and he did exactly that across three rounds of flyweight Muay Thai action.

The 22-year-old had nerves of steel against his decorated adversary throughout the affair, and he had no issues letting his hands fly.

Pettonglor lit up Duangsompong with unorthodox combinations and spinning elbow attacks that made the 25-year-old think twice before entering the pocket in the early going, and he grew in confidence as the battle wore on, continuing to land the better strikes.

Duangsompong did manage to heap on some late pressure, but it wasn’t enough to sway the judges, and Pettonglor picked up the unanimous decision win.

The Thai striker moved to 2-0 in ONE with the victory and 52-21 in his career.

Rambong Earns Third KO Win Over Game Pansak

Rambong Sor Therapat picked up finish number three at ONE Friday Fights in a thrilling 128-pound catchweight Muay Thai contest against Pansak Wor Wantawee.

Both men launched heavy artillery at each other when the action began, but it was Pansak who seemed to score the cleaner punches in round one.

Rambong always looked primed to explode, though, and he landed a right hook to put his foe down at the start of the second frame.

Pansak answered the referee’s count, but it was on visibly wobbly legs. He tried to stay in the fight, but the LookSuan MuayThai Camp athlete never let up.

Rambong chased his foe with volleys of punches and sealed the deal with an overhand left at 1:13 of the second round to earn his 75th career win.

Petdam’s Massive Right Crushes Petpalangchai In Round One

Petdam Petkiatpet knew his strength was going to be his biggest trump card heading into his 134-pound catchweight Muay Thai duel with Petpalangchai Por Jaroenpat, and that was certainly the case.

The Petkiatpet athlete walked his foe down behind punch-kick combinations right from the opening bell, and it didn’t take him long to make his intentions known.

Petdam countered his Thai compatriot’s one-two with a snappy left hook, then finished proceedings with a massive right hand at 1:49 of the first frame.

His second consecutive knockout win on the global stage upped the 28-year-old’s slate to 62-18.

Maisangkum Earns Decision Win In Firefight With Mungkorn

Maisangkum Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang and Mungkorn Boomdeksean stood toe-to-toe in a memorable 118-pound catchweight Muay Thai contest, and it was the former who walked away victorious when the dust settled.

Neither man refused to take a back step in the first round, but Maisangkum landed the better shots, including an incredible six-punch combination.

Mungkorn offered a stern challenge in the second stanza, but Maisangkum’s flow was in full effect. The 22-year-old continued to throw a litany of elbow strikes to stay in control of the contest, and he delivered more of the same in the final stanza to earn the unanimous decision.

Maisangkum moved to 3-0 in ONE and improved his overall record to 49-16 with the win.

Petsaenchai Stops Ngaopayak With Crushing Knee

Petsaenchai M U Den KhonmaiBaowee earned a memorable victory in his 130-pound catchweight Muay Thai clash with Ngaopayak Adsanpatong.

Both debuting Thais strung together fluid combinations in round one, with the taller Petsaenchai showing glimpses of his impressive knee arsenal throughout.

That weaponry became more apparent in the second round, and it wasn’t long before the FA Group standout found the money shot.

Petsaenchai caught a right kick from Ngaopayak, and he countered with a crunching right knee to the body that sent his foe down and out for good at the 1:38 mark of round two.

The debut win pushed the 22-year-old’s professional slate to 51-12 and cemented him as one to watch.

Ghazali Shows Star Quality With Second-Round KO Of Bekmurzaev

Johan Ghazali did what he does best against Temirlan Bekmurzaev, and it earned him a six-figure ONE Championship contract.

The 16-year-old phenom went to work right away in the flyweight Muay Thai encounter, but Bekmurzaev diffused the onslaught with power and precision.

“Jojo” took control in the second frame, however, imposing his will on the Russian star.

As both men dropped their guard and traded weapons, Ghazali snuck in an elbow that forced his opposite number onto the backfoot.

Sensing victory, he sprinted in and connected with a right to the jaw, followed by a devastating liver shot that left Bekmurzaev unable to answer the referee’s count.

The finish came at 2:43 of the second frame, earning the Malaysian-American his fourth successive victory at ONE Friday Fights and pushing his overall slate to 23-6.

Khomutov Demolishes Pornsiri In Under Two Minutes

Kirill Khomutov rode into Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on the back of a prolific debut this past July, and he impressed once again in his bantamweight Muay Thai contest with Pornsiri PK Saenchai.

The 24-year-old took control right from the start by landing clean shots down the pipe of Pornsiri, which rocked the Thai star right to his foundation.

Khomutov clearly knew a finish was imminent, and he found it via a lightning-fast left hook at 1:57 of the opening round.

The Russian star moved to 2-0 in ONE with the win and 10-2 overall.

Orden Drops Pongsiri En Route To Debut Win

Debuting Spaniard Antonio Orden looked slick as he worked his way to a split decision win over Pongsiri Sor Jor Wichitpadriew in their strawweight Muay Thai contest.

The WBC Muay Thai World Champion used his long legs to score with teeps and body kicks at range and found a home for accurate counter punches when Pongsiri lunged in.

A well-timed spinning back elbow sent the Thai slugger to the canvas in round one, and Orden kept up the pressure in round two.

Despite a spirited revival from the Pongsiri in the final frame, the Thai star’s heavy low kicks weren’t enough, and two of three judges handed Orden the debut win to extend his record to 42-4.

Suman Dissects Gabov In Dominant ONE Debut

Vladimir Gabov went to war with Elad Suman in lightweight Muay Thai action, and it was the Israeli-Ghanian athlete who bagged the unanimous decision win after nine minutes of action.

Suman made the most of his reach and height advantage from start to finish, fighting brilliantly on the outside and entering enemy territory with wicked left hands and dynamite kicks.

When things clinched up, the debuting star relied on his elbows and knees to diffuse his Russian opponent’s heavy boxing.

That aggressive approach earned Suman the nod from all three judges in the end, handing him his seventh career win and a memorable promotional bow.

Suleimanov Stuns Mamytov To Extend Unbeaten Run

Someone’s zero had to go when Zaiundin Suleimanov and Adilet Mamytov met in flyweight MMA action, and Suleimanov made sure it wasn’t his.

“Black Tiger” used his versatile wrestling throughout the first frame, planning his entries well against the dynamic striking of Mamytov. But Suleimanov wanted to show he had more in his arsenal, and he did just that in the second stanza.

Mamytov was active right from the bell, but when he threw one flying knee too many, the Russian star struck with a beautiful counter left hook that dropped his foe to the canvas and secured the TKO victory at the 2:46 mark of round two.

Suleimanov opened his ONE account in style with the win and moved to 7-0 overall.

Alvarez Opens Show With Rapid Submission Win Over Chai

Carlos “Limitless” Alvarez wasted no time getting to grips with “Majin” Title Chai in their featherweight MMA curtain jerker.

The Team Lakay man drove his foe to the ropes as soon as the action got underway and secured a big double-leg takedown.

After initially searching for a D’Arce choke, Alvarez quickly switched to an anaconda choke to force the tap after just 57 seconds of the first round, earning him his third win in ONE.
