Tawanchai Vs. Superbon Muay Thai World Title Bout Moved To ONE Friday Fights 46

Following a health scare, the Thai megastars will square off for the gold in Asia primetime on December 22.

ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai will need to wait just a little bit longer to make his next defense.

Tawanchai was originally scheduled to defend his gold against fellow Thai megastar Superbon Singha Mawynn at ONE Fight Night 17 on Prime Video on December 8, but the reigning divisional kingpin was forced to postpone the contest due to an undisclosed illness.

With his health now returning to normal, the match has been rescheduled for ONE Friday Fights 46, which will broadcast live in Asia primetime on December 22 from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Tawanchai, who owns a 131-31-2 professional record, has proven to be a near-unstoppable force in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

The 24-year-old superstar is riding a six-bout winning streak, with four of those victories coming via knockout. Most recently, he switched sports and beat “Smokin” Jo Nattawut in a featherweight kickboxing contest via unanimous decision at ONE Fight Night 15 this past October.

However, Tawanchai’s next assignment will be arguably the toughest fight of his entire career.

Superbon is a former ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion and the current #1-ranked featherweight Muay Thai contender.

After beating three consecutive modern-day kickboxing legends in Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong, Giorgio Petrosyan, and Marat Grigorian, the 33-year-old striker lost his belt to Chingiz Allazov in January.

Though it was disheartening for the pound-for-pound great, the loss set up Superbon for an epic return, as he knocked out Dutch-Turkish sensation Tayfun Ozcan with his signature left head kick in June, upping his career slate to 114-35.

Now, Tawanchai and Superbon will battle for featherweight Muay Thai supremacy in the main event of ONE Championship’s final show of the year, ONE Friday Fights 46.

Their massive clash joins the previously announced ONE Interim Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Title showdown between Anissa Meksen and “The Queen” Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom on the Asia primetime card.
