The massively anticipated ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title bout between reigning titleholder Tawanchai PK Saenchai and former featherweight kickboxing king Superbon Singha Mawynn has been rescheduled for Friday, December 8.
The Thai megastars will battle for the featherweight Muay Thai throne in this highly anticipated main event.
The massively anticipated ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title bout between reigning titleholder Tawanchai PK Saenchai and former featherweight kickboxing king Superbon Singha Mawynn has been rescheduled for Friday, December 8.
The clash of Thai striking megastars is now set to headline ONE Fight Night 17 on Prime Video, which will air live in U.S. primetime from Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Tawanchai was originally booked to defend his throne against his compatriot at ONE Fight Night 15 on Prime Video on October 6, but an injury forced Superbon out of the contest.
As a result, the 24-year-old continued his quest for two-sport glory and registered a tight unanimous decision victory over “Smokin” Jo Nattawut in a hard-fought kickboxing battle.
That extended Tawanchai’s winning streak to six and improved his overall ONE record to 7-1 with five knockouts.
Given his current form, Tawanchai is regarded as one of the greatest pound-for-pound strikers on the planet, but Superbon has been in that position himself and won’t be fazed by his younger rival’s reputation.
Until his ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title loss to Chingiz Allazov in January, the 33-year-old was considered the greatest kickboxer on the globe, and he wants to prove he’s just as dangerous when returning to his Muay Thai roots.
With highlight-reel knockouts over Giorgio Petrosyan and Tayfun Ozcan in ONE, the Singha Mawynn representative has shown he’s never more than one shot away from ending a match decisively.
But while Superbon would love to take Muay Thai gold in emphatic fashion, Tawanchai has the same fight-ending capabilities, which means both men must be at their best in Bangkok.
This World Title super-fight has all the makings of a classic, and with one postponement already, the Thai icons will be eager to give the fans a match to remember at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.
