The India national football team has enlisted former England international Trevor Sinclair to assist Igor Stimac in the upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2023 - according to a report by RevSportz. Sinclair and Stimac have shared history, with both turning up for West Ham United in the English Premier League around the turn of the century. (Football News)
As per reports, Stimac reached out to Sinclair with the prospect of a challenging continental cup campaign ahead, hoping to recruit him to hone the Indian wing play and set pieces. All India Football Federation facilitated Stimac's request and Sinclair was brought on board swiftly with the competition fast approaching.

A rapid wide forward, Sinclair came through the ranks at Blackpool before making his senior debut with the side. Sinclair moved to London in 1993, joining Queens Park Rangers and commencing a decade-long stay in the metropolitan with his time evenly split between QPR and West Ham United. He made over 200 appearances for the Hammers, sharing a dressing room for many of those with Stimac, and earned a spot in the England squad for the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan and South Korea, where he was considered one of the Three Lions' best players.
Sinclair later played for Manchester City between 2003 and 2007 before descending the English football pyramid until his ultimate retirement. He tried his coaching hand by presiding over Lancaster City briefly but would later devote much of his time to running his football academy.
As per reports, Sinclair will reach Qatar on December 29, 2023, a day before the India national football team. India will begin their AFC Asian Cup campaign on January 13, 2024, with a tough tie against Australia.
