India batter Virat Kohli will finish 2023 as the 11th-best Test batter in history. The India National Cricket Team star currently occupies that same slot in the ICC All-Time Test Batting Rankings and is one of four active batters to feature on the list, alongside Australia pair Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne and England's Joe Root. Kohli currently has a rating of 937 - the same as Labuschagne and one fewer than Kumar Sangakkara, Gary Sobers, Viv Richards, and Clyde Walcott - that he attained versus England five years ago.
Leading the chart is Australian cricketing great, Sir Don Bradman, who edges his compatriot Steve Smith by a considerable margin. Smith, meanwhile, is the only active batter in the Top 10, a section otherwise populated by some of the greatest to grace the game, including Ricky Ponting and Jack Hobbs.
Australia are the most represented nation on the list of batters, with six of the 20 named hailing from the country. England follow their Ashes rivals with four reps, the same as West Indies. South Africa have three players on the chart while India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan have one each.
