The list includes 104 Indian and 61 overseas players, of which 15 are from associate nations. Among the 165, 56 are capped players and the remaining 109 are uncapped. Gujarat Giants will head into the WPL 2024 auction with the biggest salary cap available at INR 5.95 crore, while defending champions Mumbai Indians will have the smallest purse (2.1 crore) at their disposal amongst the five teams.

After a successful first season, the WPL is all set to return and could take place in February-March 2024 ahead of the Men's Indian Premier League. A Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians had won the first season of the WPL by beating Delhi Capitals by seven wickets in the final in March 2023 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
