Defending champions Goa Challengers will face newcomers Jaipur Patriots in the opening match of the Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) scheduled to be held here from August 22 to September 7.

The Australian Olympic Committee says former high-ranking IOC member and Australian Olympian Kevan Gosper has died aged 90.

The AOC said in a statement that Gosper died Friday after a short illness.

Gosper won an Olympic silver medal on Australia's 4-x-400-meter track relay team at the 1956 Melbourne Games and also competed at the Rome Olympics in 1960 before becoming more well-known as one of the country's and world's top sports administrators. (AP)

Mumbai City FC on Friday roped in Odisha FC midfielder Hitesh Sharma on loan till the end of the upcoming 2024-25 season.

The Jalandhar-born Hitesh honed his skills as the Chandigarh Football Academy and Tata Football Academy (TFA).

He began his senior career with Mumbai FC in the I-League and went on to play for Atletico de Kolkata, Hyderabad FC and Odisha FC.(PTI)

Spain striker Alvaro Morata has joined AC Milan on a four-year deal with the option to extend for another year, the Italian club said Friday.

The 31-year-old Morata captained Spain to the European Championship title last Sunday and joins from Spanish club Atletico Madrid, where he scored 21 goals last season.

And the 38-year old found his ways towards victory playing against the world No. 36 in the quarterfinal match.
