Women’s PGA Championship: Amy Yang Wins First Major Title

After years of near-misses in the majors, Yang finally enjoyed the celebration she’d long sought: standing on the 18th green, doused in Champagne by her peers as a major champion. Yang closed with an even-par 72 to finish at 7-under 281. She was nearly flawless for the first 15 holes and reached 10 under for the tournament for a seven-shot lead before running into a little bit of trouble. But none of her pursuers was able to mount a significant charge.

South Africa's target is 123 (DLS method). Two bowlers can bowl 4 overs, three can bowl 3 each. Match to start at 11:45 pm local time.

Queen's Club C'ship: Tommy Paul Beats Lorenzo Musetti

Tommy Paul outgunned Lorenzo Musetti to win the final at the grass-court Queen's Club, 6-1, 7-6 (8), for his third ATP title.

Paul became the first American winner of the pre-Wimbledon tournament since Sam Querrey in 2010 and joined a group of former American champions which includes John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors and Pete Sampras. (AP)

T20 World Cup: South Africa Beat West Indies By 3 Wickets (DLS)

In a closely fought game, Proteas have sealed a spot in the semis of the T20 World Cup 2024 by beating the co-hosts West Indies by three wickets in this crunch Super 8s clash.

Copa America 2024: Darwin Nunez Scores As Uruguay Beat Panama 3-1

Maximiliano Araújo scored when he sent a left-footed shot into the top far corner in the 16th minute, Darwin Núñez and Matías Viña added late goals and Uruguay beat Panama 3-1 in its Copa America opener.

Seeking a record 16th Copa America title, Uruguay dominated with 20 shots, including seven on target. Amir Murillo scored late into stoppage time for Panama.

The match drew 33,425 to Hard Rock Stadium, home of the NFL's Miami Dolphins. The stadium is the site of the July 14 final and seven games during the 2026 World Cup.

T20 World Cup 2024: We Need To Be Smart In Situations While Batting, Says RSA Captain Aiden Markram

Relieved to have qualified for the semifinals of the T20 World Cup, South Africa captain Aiden Markram acknowledged that the Proteas erred a bit in attempting to finish off the chase against West Indies too soon, leading to an unconvincing victory.

South Africa did well to restrict the two-time champions to 135/8. In reply, the Proteas were 15/2 in two overs when rain disrupted proceedings for close to an hour.

"We bowled really well, assessed conditions and kept them to a sub-par total. We could have build a partnership after the break and then take it from there, we will take that learning and hopefully not do that same mistake again." (PTI)

The Draws for the Table Tennis events at the Paris Olympics will be conducted on 24 July,8:30 pm IST. The seeding dates for the Singles, Team & Mixed doubles events will be held on 16 July. In singles, the top 32 seeds will be drawn directly into the Round of 64.

PCB Set For A Overhaul Post Men's Team Disastrous T20 World Cup Performance - Report

Pakistan's shambolic T20 World Cup campaign in the USA is all set to trigger a churning in the country's cricket board and lead to the formulation of a code of conduct for players, who are drawing criticism for taking their families along and making paid appearances at promotional events during the tournament.

A reliable source in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is livid with the performance of some senior officials and held them responsible for the indiscipline prevailing in the team, which could not go beyond the league stage.

"You can expect the PCB to lose senior management level officials and also enforce some strict policies for the players in future," the source said. (PTI)
