Ace shuttler PV Sindhu has taken the opening game against Supanida Katethong 21-12. Still a long way to go in the game but a nice start by the Indian.

Benyapa Aimsaard and Nuntakarn Aimsaard run rampant against the Indian pairing of Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra, winning the match 21-11, 21-9 in under half hour. This bout will be decided by the fifth and final game between Anmol Kharb and Pornchipa Choeikeewong.

Mustafizur Rahman Hospitalised 

The Bangladesh bowler received an accidental blow to his head during a training session of his team in the Bangladesh Premier League and had to be rushed to the hospital.

"During practice, a ball hit directly at the left parietal area (head) of Mustafizur Rahman. There was an open wound at his parietal area and we have worked with compression bandage to stop bleeding and immediately shifted him to Imperial hospital," a BCB media release stated. (PTI)

Manchester United In Action Later

Iconic Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been selected as the leader of IPL's all-time greatest team which was picked to celebrate the success of world's most-popular T20 league which was launched in 2008, PTI reports. The selection panel consisted of former cricketers Wasim Akram, Matthew Hayden, Tom Moody and Dale Steyn. About 70 journalists were also part of the selection process. Australia's fiery David Warner and India's batting main stay Virat Kohli were chosen as openers while 'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle was given the number three spot in batting order.

Women's FIH Pro League: India Leading USA 1-0

Riding high with their 1-0 victory over the mighty Australia in their previous match, the Indian national women's hockey team has begun the clash against USA well. Savita Punia and Co are 1-0 ahead in the second quarter, courtesy a penalty corner conversion by Deepika in the 19th minute. This is the team's last match in the Rourkela leg, after which their FIH Pro League 2023-24 campaign pauses, before a resumption in Antwerp, Belgium in May.

Women's FIH Pro League: India Beat USA In Shootout

After a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time, the Indian women's hockey team have emerged victors via penalty shootout against the USA in their last FIH Pro League 2023-24 match of the Rourkela leg. India scored in the 19th minute through young drag-flicker Deepika Kumari and the US equalised through Ashley Seesa in the 45th minute. In the shootouts, Mumtaz Khan and Sonika were on target for the hosts, while Leah Crouse scored for the losing team.

La Liga: Real Madrid Held 1-1 By Rayo Vallecano

Real Madrid could see their Spanish league lead cut, after being held to a 1-1 draw at Rayo Vallecano in their La Liga 2023-24 clash. Joselu put Madrid ahead only three minutes into the match against their southern Madrid rivals, but the hosts equalized through Raul de Tomas in the 27th. The draw moved Madrid six points clear of second-place Girona, who visit fifth-placed Athletic Bilbao tomorrow.

Bundesliga: VfL Bochum Beat Bayern Munich

In a match that had to be suspended midway due to fan protests, Bayern Munich were eventually edged 2-3 by VfL Bochum in a Bundesliga 2023-24 clash. Harry Kane scored a stoppage-time goal to raise hopes of a fightback, but it eventually proved to be too little, too late for the German football powerhouses. This was Bayern's third straight loss across competitions.
