Elections to 55 Rajya Sabha seats falling vacant in April will be held on March 26; votes will be counted the same day. Notification for the biennial elections will be issued on March 6, while March 13 is the last date of filing nominations.
Schools in Kashmir reopened after six months. Educational institutes had closed after restrictions and shutdown following the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5; in between, the customary three-month winter break was also announced.
