Museum being considered as a fixed entity struggles to contain the dynamism of living histories. Dayanita Singh's Museum Bhavan, however, transcends the spatial and temporal limits of the Museum providing it with mobility that helps to generate diverse meanings in every interaction with the audience.

A collection of nine museums, Singh's Bhavan reflects on her photographic journey since 1981. The interaction between different museums like the Museum of Photography with the Museum of Furniture, or sometimes with the Museum of Machine, initiates a conversation within and without. The Museum of little girl displays different moments of Singh's childhood as captured by her mother, Museum of Photography showcases the human relations that build up love and solidarities. This innovative collection of Museums merges the history of things and beings to create a new discursive context.

Outlook India in collaboration with Bihar Museum celebrates these innovative museums that uphold alternative voices and ideas.
