Animal Box Office Collection Day 14: The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’ has been in the theatres for two weeks now post its release on December 1. However, despite getting criticised for its misogyny and excessively violent scenes, the film has managed to get massive crowds to the cinemas. On its 14th day of release, the film witnessed its lowest single-day collection and earned Rs 8.75 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. The latest number takes the film’s domestic nett collection to Rs 476.84 crore.
The film saw a huge box office opening at Rs 63.8 crore, but ‘Animal’ recorded its biggest single-day on its third day when it collected Rs 71.46 crore. After the film’s second weekend, the collections started to drop and the film saw the daily collections to less than Rs 15 crore. On Thursday, the film, with 1264 shows in the Delhi-NCR region, saw an occupancy of 17.25%. As for Mumbai, the film had 801 shows, and boasted of an occupancy of 15%.
As for its worldwide collections, ‘Animal’ has made Rs 772.33 crore in its first 13 days, according to producer T-Series. On the 14th day, it looks like the number would cross Rs 800 crore. With another weekend and no major films releasing this Friday, the film has all the time to amp up its earnings. Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ and Prabhaas’ ‘Salaar’ are hitting the silver screens next weekend. With two major releases coming, ‘Animal’ might slow down but before that, it can unabashedly maintain its dominance at the domestic box office.
Interestingly, ‘Animal’ is just a few box office numbers away from crossing the lifetime collection of ‘Baahubali 2’ (Hindi) in India. The SS Rajamouli film had minted Rs 510.99 crore nett domestic when it released in 2017, as per Bollywood Hungama. For the longest time, the film took the top spot but this year, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ and Jawan, and Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’, pushed it down by crossing its collections. And now, it looks like Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film will cross the collections of ‘Baahubali 2’ (Hindi) as well.
'Animal' stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The flick revolves around the complex relationship of a business magnate Balbir Singh (Anil) and his son Rannvijay Singh (Ranbir).
