Ranbir Kapoor has joined the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol to enter the Rs 500 crore club. With his latest film ‘Animal’, helmed by filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Ranbir is the latest entrant in the Rs 500-crore club.

At the box office, the film witnessed a huge third Sunday jump at the box office, and it looks like the film will break more records before it closes its final run. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has joined the coveted Rs 500 crore club with its all India nett on its day 17.

On its 17th day at the box office, the film collected an estimated Rs 15 crore, making it a nett total of Rs 35 crore on the third weekend. The film has now managed to earn Rs 512 crore (all India) mark. After Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol, Ranbir Kapoor is the only Bollywood actor to enter the hollowed club.

Meanwhile, coming to the film’s Hindi collections, it is estimated to be Rs 466 crore while globally the film is moving closer to Rs 850 crore mark.

In terms of all-India nett records, the film is inching towards breaking the box office record of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’, which stood at Rs 543 crore. The other Shah Rukh release, ‘Jawan’, is still out of reach as the Atlee directorial had collected Rs 640 crore all-India nett.

In Hindi collections, Animal is behind the records made by two other films, ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Gadar 2’. While ‘Pathaan’ wrapped up its Hindi run at Rs 524 crore, Sunny Deol finished his mighty return to the cinemas with a collection of Rs 525 crore. ‘Animal’ has to collect more than Rs 50 crore to break these records.

It all depends on how the film’s eventual run pans out considering the decreased number of screens in the third week when two Christmas big films will arrive in cinemas. The first remains Shah Rukh Khan-Rajkumar Hirani’s social comedy drama ‘Dunki’, followed by Prabhas’ action drama Salaar.

Headlined by Ranbir Kapoor, ‘Animal’ also stars Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri and Rashmika Mandanna. It released on December 1, and clashed with Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ at the box office.
