The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’ has certainly taken the box office by a storm within just six days of its release and is all set to cross the Rs 300 crore benchmark in India. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Animal’ has collected Rs 312.96 crore nett in the domestic market within one week. On the sixth day, the film saw its lowest collections so far, which stood at Rs 30 crore. While the film’s worldwide collection was at Rs 481 crore after five days, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directorial has now entered the Rs 500 crore club.
The film kicked off its office journey by collecting Rs 63.8 crore on its opening day, and saw its highest collection on its third day when it minted Rs 71.46 crore at the box office. On its first Monday, it collected Rs 43.96 crore, followed by Rs 37.47 crore on Tuesday.
To say the least, ‘Animal’ is now the fourth-highest grossing film of the year after ‘Jawan’, ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Gadar 2’. While Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ collected Rs 643.87 crore in India, ‘Pathaan’ made Rs 543.05 crore. Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ collected Rs 525.45 crore.
Not to miss, ‘Animal’ has already crossed the lifetime collections of ‘Tiger 3’, which stood at Rs 284.05 crore. And the film is inching closer to surpassing the lifetime collections of ‘Sanju’ and becoming Ranbir’s biggest-ever hit. ‘Sanju’, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, made Rs 342.53 crore in 2018 when it released, and ‘Animal’ is Rs 29.57 crore short of its collections.
Coming to the film, it features Ranbir as the son of India’s richest man (portrayed by Anil Kapoor) who takes on an antagonist played by Bobby Deol. The cast also includes Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri and others. It released in cinemas on December 1.
