Television actress Rupali Ganguly recently featured on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's social media page. It was a great achievement for her and she is elated about it.
Rupali Ganguly who plays the lead role in the daily soap 'Anupamaa' was noticed by PM Modi and he shared a 'vocal for local' ad campaign featuring Rupali on his social media page.
Expressing her happiness, Rupali told India Today that she is a huge Modi bhakt and added, "For me, my Prime Minister is the star, who has helped India reach a new level. Today, I can proudly say I am from Modi ji's country. He is my hero. When I got the chance to be a part of the cause of 'vocal for local', I was thrilled. Just to be associated with something that he believes in so deeply. Also, for him to share the video on his page, I think I just died that day (laughs)."
Rupali also said that it was 'surreal and unreal' for her as she never expected that the Prime Minister would share it on his page and added, ''so he must have seen my face. And that's such a big thing for me. And I must thank my show Anupamaa for giving me this platform to reach greater heights. I still can't believe that it happened to me. Honestly, I sometimes go back to his page and see the video. It's really a big moment for me, and I will always be grateful for it."
The 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai' actress also said that she sometimes does think, and at least hope that PM Modi has seen 'Anupamaa'. ''That would be the biggest achievement,'' she said.
