'Big Bang Theory' actress Kate Micucci revealed that she has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Kate who played Lucy on the popular sitcom, 'Big Bang Theory' shared the news in a TikTok video. In the video, Kate said that she underwent surgery for lung cancer on Friday.
"Hey everybody, this is not a TikTok, it's a 'Sick Tok.' I'm in the hospital but it's because I had lung cancer surgery yesterday,'' she said.
"They caught it really early. It's pretty weird because I've never smoked a cigarette in my life. So, you know, it was a surprise. But also I guess, also, it happens and so the greatest news is they caught it early, they got it out, I’m all good,'' added Micucci.
The 43-year-old actress also said, “It’s been a little bit of a trip and [I’ll] probably be moving slow for a few weeks but then I’ll be back at it'' and added that she can’t wait to get back to painting.
“Why am I still talking ... ‘cause I’m on drugs!” said the actress giving a thumbs up.
On how she found out about her cancer, Micucci shared, "I had one thing in my bloodwork that came back really high ... It was HCRP ... not sure what that is exactly but I guess it means there is inflammation somewhere''.
"So I went to a preventative doc who did a few scans. He scanned my heart and that's where the spot in my lung was noticed,'' she explained.
Kate was part of three seasons of 'Big Bang Theory'. Apart from this, she also appeared in 'How I Met Your Mother', 'Weeds' and 'Psych'. She has also given her voice to animated characters on shows like 'Steven Universe', 'Milo Murphy's Law' and 'Scooby-Doo'.
