Voice actor Kamar de los Reyes, best known for playing a bad guy-turned good in the soap opera 'One Life to Live' and a villain in the video game franchise 'Call of Duty: Black Ops II,' passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 56, the family announced.

De los Reyes died December 24 after having a brief battle with cancer, as per a statement from Lisa Goldberg, a publicist for de los Reyes’ wife, Sherri Saum.

At the time of his death, Reyes was shooting for 'All American' — and had recently filmed his characters in Marvel’s upcoming 'Daredevil' series and Hulu’s yet to be released 'Washington Black,' which stars Sterling K. Brown.

"He was such a beloved member of our 'All-American' family, He brought so much love, light, and joy to the set every day, even during his final days. We are so grateful for every moment he spent with us," said the show's producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll, in a conversation with Deadline.

De los Reyes, born in Puerto Rico and raised in Las Vegas, developed a passion for acting when he arrived in Los Angeles in the late 1980s, as stated in a biography provided by his family. The family statement continued, adding, "De los Reyes lived in Los Angeles, but his heart never left Puerto Rico."

Some of his iconic portrayals can be found in films like 'Nixon,' 'The Cell,' 'Salt,' and shows like 'Sleepy Hollow,' 'The Rookie,' and 'All American.' He also played the antagonist Raul Menendez in the video game series 'Call of Duty: Black Ops II.' His character garnered immense praise that he ended up playing the same role in 'Call of Duty: Black Ops IV' and 'Call of Duty: Vanguard.'

The actor is survived by wife Sherri Saum and three sons: Caylen, 26, and twins Michael and John, 9, and his siblings, Daniel and Walfredo Jr., sisters, Lily and Ilde, along with his parents.
