Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday starrer 'Dream Girl 2' hit the theatres on August 25. It has turned out to be the biggest opening for Ayushmann. The movie entered the Rs 50 crore club in just five days after its release. As per a report in Sacnilk, the film saw an improvement on Thursday as it collected Rs 8 crore, as per early estimates. So, the total collection of 'Dream Girl 2' in its first week stands at Rs 67.5 crore. With this, it is inching closer to the Rs 70 crore club.
The coming week is important as Shah Rukh Khan's film 'Jawan' is releasing on September 7. So, Ayushmann has one week to perform without competition. Post that on Friday, it will be facing tough competition with the SRK starrer.
A report in Bollywood Hungama states that 'Dream Girl 2' is expected to end its box office run at Rs 80 crore. So, let's see if it goes with the prediction or not.
'Dream Girl 2' is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster 'Dream Girl'. Ayushmann is reprising the role of Karamveer aka Karam. He cross-dresses as Pooja. He has been getting lots of love and appreciation for his role. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film also stars Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Asrani, Abhishek Banerjee, Manjot Singh and Seema Pahwa.
Earlier, while talking about the box office success of the film, Khurrana told ANI, ''I'm thrilled with Dream Girl 2's start at the box office as it has given me my career-best opening!
