Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’, despite facing a tough competition from the Prabhas-starrer ‘Salaar’, has maintained a steady collection at the box office. The film made the most of its first weekend and the Christmas holiday period, but declined thereafter, in terms of revenue. As per early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Dunki’ is expected to make Rs 9.75 crore on Wednesday, which is the film’s lowest single-day haul so far. With the latest numbers, the film’s total domestic collection is Rs 151.26 crore.
On Wednesday, the film saw an overall 19.89 percent Hindi occupancy. After six days, it has collected Rs 283.13 crore in worldwide gross box office, as previously revealed by Red Chillies Entertainment on X (formerly Twitter).
As for its first Thursday, 'Dunki’ did have a strong opening, collecting Rs 29.2 crore. However, it witnessed a 31 percent dip on Friday, with earnings of Rs 20.12 crore. Over the weekend, the film bounced back with a 27.29 percent increase and collected Rs 25.61 crore on Saturday. On Sunday, it saw a 19.88 percent rise and accumulated Rs 30.7 crore. On Monday, the collections fell down by 20.78 percent to Rs 24.32 crore. It dipped further on Tuesday with a 52 percent fall and the film raked in Rs 11.56 crore.
‘Dunki’ is Shah Rukh Khan’s weakest film this year, considering he delivered ‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathaan’ in 2023, breaking his own records. Both films grossed a combined total of over Rs 2200 crore, and with Dunki’s numbers factored in, the numbers have crossed Rs 2500 crore worldwide.
Meanwhile, during a recent interaction with fans during an # session on X (formerly Twitter), ‘SRK’ called Dunki his most challenging film. He wrote, “When you have to deal with varied emotions it’s always more of a work for an actor. So Dunki it is. #Dunki.”
‘Dunki’ was released on December 21, a day before ‘Salaar’. Dunki has crossed the Rs 150 crore mark in seven days of its release at the domestic box office, while the Prabhas-starrer has raked in Rs 297.40 crore.
