One of the most-anticipated movies of the year, 'Gadar 2' is all set to hit the theatres on August 11. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are back with their iconic roles of Tara Singh and Sakina and their on-screen son Charanjeet Singh aka Jeete played by Utkarsh Sharma from the prequel is back too. He has a lot to offer in 'Gadar 2'. For the unversed Utkarsh is the son of director Anil Sharma.

We had a freewheeling chat with Utkarsh where he spoke about his experience of being directed by his dad, reuniting with Sunny and Ameesha, what the audience can expect from 'Gadar 2' and a lot more. Here are the excerpts from his interview.

Utkarsh, you are returning as Charanjeet Singh after 22 years. So, how is the feeling?

The feeling is full of excitement and hope and full of expectations also that the audience loves the film and they showers the same love and appreciation they showered on the first one.

How does it feel to be directed by your father again? Is he a strict director?

It's the same. He has the same energy and he is still professional not only on set but also at home. He believes in working 24/7 and growing up with him I have learned to work hard but we keep that relationship professional me being an actor and he the director. Obviously, there is the emotion of a father and a son but we do have a professional relationship when we are on set.

Is there sometimes a difference of opinion between both of you?

I know how his mind works and what he wants. So, I have grown to anticipate what he wants at times and he also understands if I do have a suggestion or something I want to improvise or something I want to do differently, so he will understand that and if it fits in his vision he will allow me to do it.

A poster has come out of you and Sunny Deol. It has created a lot of excitement among fans. So, can you tell us more about it as to what's going to happen?

First of all, you can expect the same level of emotion and drama that you experienced in 'Gadar'. These two things are guaranteed. But the added elements in 'Gadar 2' are that it has more adventures and a larger scale of action. I can't reveal too much about the plot because it has lots of suspense. But despite that, I would say that it's an emotional story of a family that we loved in Gadar One. Now we will find them in the midst of the 1971 war and whatever happens to the family, the story revolves around that. There are very emotional and hard-hitting moments.

You can see me doing action scenes as he is an emotionally volatile character. He has traces of Tara Singh.

How does it feel to be sharing the same screen space again with Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel?

Sunny sir is one of the greatest actors living today. The way he works and the way he leads the entire team along. Like even if there is a junior artist on set, he will want that person to give 100% in the film because he believes that every actor should give their 100%. He is still the same person as I remember him. He is still that shy and I have discovered a few more facets of him like he is a tech freak and I didn't know that about him. I discovered him a little more and really enjoyed it because I am a fan of him from the heart and it was like a dream come true to work with him as an adult with Sunny sir. Ameesha ji is still the same sweet person and very affectionate as well when I was a child and still she is the same.

There are such pivotal pillars of the film and the film would have been incomplete without them. It was a challenge for the director to make them look the same even after 20-22 years. In the writing and everything lot of work was done.
