The much-anticipated movie of the year 'Gadar 2' has finally hit the theatres today i.e. on August 11. The sequel to the 2001 film 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha'', it stars Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel who are reprising their iconic roles of Tara Singh and Sakina. The Anil Sharma directorial also stars Utkarsh Sharma and newcomer Simratt Kaur Randhawa. The reviews of 'Gadar 2' are out and it has got positive responses from the critics. Netizens have shared their reviews of the movie on social media. They have called it a 'must watch'. Many have declared it a 'blockbuster'. As per Zee Studios, 20,00,000 tickets have been booked in advance for 'Gadar 2'. As per trade experts, Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel-starrer will earn between Rs 25-35 crore on its first day. It is likely to cross Rs 100 crore over the first weekend.
Exhibitor Akshaye Rathi told Hindustan Times, "Looking at the advance bookings, the opening of Gadar 2 can be conveniently put at anything above ₹30 crore. If it has the kind of traction we are expecting, Gadar 2 will possibly be the highest-grosser for Sunny Deol in decades. Let us hope the movie brings in that euphoria and experience for the audience."
