'Jawan' Box Office Collection: Shah Rukh Khan Starrer Becomes Biggest Hindi Opener Of All Time; Beats 'Pathaan'

Shah Rukh Khan has beaten his own record as 'Jawan' has become the biggest opener ever in Hindi-language film. It has surpassed 'Pathaan's day 1 collection.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Jawan' hit the theatres amidst much fanfare on September 7. Directed by Atlee, the movie also starred Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and Riddhi Dogra among others. Deepika Padukone has a special cameo appearance in the actioner. 'Jawan' has become the biggest opener ever in Hindi-language film. It has surpassed 'Pathaan's day 1 collection. 

As per a report in Sacnilk.com, 'Jawan' made a whopping Rs 75 crore nett on day one, of which Rs 65 crore nett has come from the Hindi version, and the remaining Rs 10 crore coming from the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions.

The SRK starrer has become the first Hindi film to make more than Rs 60 crore on the first day of its release. Due to the Janmashtami holiday, the collections got boosted and over the weekend, it is expected to perform really well at the box office.

Sacnilk also reported that 'Jawan’s day 1 occupancy across India stood at 58%, with night shows witnessing 69% occupancy and morning shows having 54% occupancy. These figures are for the Hindi version, which is also playing in South Indian states. The film is  Shah Rukh’s first pan-India release. Chennai had the best occupancy out of all the cities in the entire country, with 81%. Mumbai reported a 55% occupancy through the day, while the NCR region had 60% occupancy.  Hyderabad and Kolkata had occupancies of 75% and 73%, respectively.

While talking about 'Pathaan' that released this year in January, earned Rs 57 crore on day 1 which set its own record year. But Shah Rukh has broken his own record. 'Pathaan' collected Rs 70 crore on day two, and ended his box office run at Rs 543 crore.
