Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Jawan' hit the big screens on September 7. The movie created a lot of buzz before its release and it opened with great numbers as expected. Within two days of its release, the Atlee directorial has entered the Rs 100 crore club at the domestic market. As per Sacnilk.com, the film has made over Rs 50 crore on day 2, its first Friday.
According to Sacnilk.com, on day 2, 'Jawan' minted Rs 53 crore nett in India for all languages, as per early estimates. On day 1, on Thursday, the actioner collected Rs 74.5 crore. It raked in Rs 65.5 crore in Hindi, Rs 5.3 crore in Tamil and Rs 3.7 crore in Telugu. So, the total collection of 'Jawan' stands at Rs 127.50 crore in India.
Reportedly, 'Jawan's Hindi version had an overall 42% occupancy across the country, with night shows having more footfalls of 70%. Mumbai reported 43% occupancy on day two and the NCR region had 53% occupancy. For the second day, the Hindi version performed the best in Chennai out of all the cities. It had 66% occupancy. While the Tamil and Telugu versions of the SRK starrer had 40% and 57% occupancy on day two, respectively.
On Friday, Red Chillies Entertainment reported that 'Jawan' had grossed Rs 129 crore worldwide on day 1 and broke 'Pathaan’s record of Rs 106 crore. On Day 2, it is reported to have crossed Rs 200 crore mark worldwide.
Jawan is Shah Rukh Khan's first pan-India film. He has been showered with praise from South celebs like SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu among others.
It also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt are seen in cameo appearances. Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and Ridhi Dogra among others have pivotal roles.
