Actor Vicky Kaushal is basking in the glory of his latest project 'Sam Bahadur.' He recently graced the couch on 'Koffee with Karan' alongside Kiara Advani. In the episode, the actor seems to be giving us insights on his personal life, talking about his "dramatic and last-minute" proposal to his wife, Katrina Kaif.
Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, who kept their relationship under wraps for years, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on December 9, 2021. Although audiences are yet to witness the couple's on-screen collaboration, their social media posts continue to captivate and leave everyone in awe.
For the first time ever, Vicky opened up about his proposal to Katrina in Rajasthan, as disclosed in the latest episode of 'Koffee With Karan 8.' When prompted by Karan Johar, Vicky blushed while recalling the challenges posed by their hectic schedules, preventing him from having an elaborate, extravagant proposal.
"It was very dramatic, but it was not as well planned as Sid and Kiara. It was very last minute. I had been warned by everybody that if you don’t propose, it’s something you’ll have to be prepared for for the rest of your life that you got to hear about it. I did that one day before the wedding," a report by ETimes quoted him saying.
Vicky added, “Yeah, we were there and then on the first night that we reached there, we planned a special dinner. It was a beautiful setup and everything. There was dinner just before any of the friends or families could come. It was just us, so, yeah, it happened there.”
After host Karan Johar asked him whether he went down on one knee to propose, Vicky slightly nodded and said yes.
Vicky also said that he met Katrina's siblings and mother only a week before the wedding when they came down to Mumbai. Renowned for his dancing skills, Vicky shared with Karan how he used his talent to make an impression on her family. According to him, he "broke the ice" by dancing to Tip Tip Barsa Paani, which helped him open up to them.
