Storyteller-actor Sudhanshu Rai, who is well-known for his repertoire of projects such as ‘Chaipatti’, ‘Detective Boomrah’ and ‘Chintaa Mani’, will next be seen in his upcoming sci-fi thriller film, which is helmed by director Puneet Sharma. Reportedly, Rai will be sharing the big screen with notable actors such as Sourabh Raaj Jain, Hiten Tejwani, Manisha Sharma, Shobhit Sujay, Deepak Wadhwa and Sidharth Banerjee.
Now, Sudhanshu has confirmed that ‘Chandragupta Maurya’ and ‘Lust Stories 2’ fame Tarun Khanna will join the cast for their last schedule in Delhi.
Shedding light on Tarun's character Dr Shekhawat, Sudhanshu shared with Outlook, "In the universe of characters created by me over the years, Dr Shekhawat holds a very prominent space. The character has always been immensely popular among my listeners and it is on their demand that he is being brought alive on the screen in our Sci-fi Hindi feature film. Dr Shekhawat is a learned man with innumerable qualities, essentially a dynamic supernatural, criminology and psychiatry expert with a charismatic personality. His several researches on complex phenomena, mysterious places and happenings that cannot be explained provide him with an unmatched acumen and knowledge."
He further added, "Whereas, his studies about ghosts, souls and supernatural powers give him the edge to explore cases and subjects, even when the likes of Detective Boomrah fail to reach a conclusion. Another indispensable part of the character is that he is deeply influenced and connected with the rich Indian cultures and traditions, which is manifested in his thoughts, words and action. While he is brave enough to feel no fear, his personality is extremely charming as well. And when needed, he doesn’t shy away from getting into some action and flexing his muscles."
Talking about why Tarun Khanna is apt for this character and how he landed into the role, he mentioned, "For playing Dr Shekhawat on screen, the foremost compulsion was an actor who could encapsulate all the above qualities. The overall personality and persona of the actor was required to reflect the intensity as well as charisma of this powerful character. Although the team was on the lookout for the same, I personally suggested Tarun primarily because as an audience and filmmaker, I have watched him grow with his work in the industry. While he has the looks for this complex yet lovable character, he has never done anything like that on screen. I believe he will do complete justice to the character and it should be a pleasant surprise for the audience to see him in this avatar."
Revealing about his upcoming schedule, he signed off by saying, "The next and final schedule of the film shoot will be complete this month. The remaining shoot is majorly of the sequences featuring Dr Shekhawat, along with some high adrenaline action scenes. I am confident that it will be a memorable experience for the whole team."
