Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara was arrested at the Venice Film Festival for alleged sexual assault. As per a report in Hollywood Reporter, he had an active international arrest warrant from French police for alleged sexual assault in France. Reportedly, Gabriel was arrested by Italian authorities during the Venice Film Festival a day before he was to receive an award.

Gabriel was to receive a Best Young Actor honour by Filming Italy on Sunday, September 3. But he was grabbed on September 2. After hearing about his arrest, Filming Italy cancelled the award, which they said was a “precautionary measure” pending the outcome of the case against him.

The festival has also released a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter) account. The statement stated that it “would like to specify that the presence in #Venice of Spanish actor #GabrielGuevara, that some press websites have recently reported as being under arrest, was not linked to any activity or production of the 80th Venice International Film Festival.”

Talking about his professional front, Gabriel has worked in several Spanish dramas and films. He has appeared in 'How to Screw it All Up', 'You’re Nothing Special', 'HIT', 'Dangerous Moms', 'Charter', and 'My Fault' among others.
