The untimely death of South Korean icon Lee Sun-kyun has shocked the entire entertainment industry. Prior to his demise, he was involved in an ongoing investigation of alleged illegal drug consumption, and was found dead in his car at a park in Seoul on the morning of December 27.
According to Yonhap news agency, the late actor’s wife Jeon Hye-jin, had called the cops around 10:12 AM, distressed, before they found his body, stating that her husband had disappeared and not returned home. He left behind what looked like a suicide note or a will.
After the news of his death, TV Chosun has revealed what his heartbreaking final letter said. “I can’t help it,” and further wrote, “I think this is the only way.” The actor also apologised multiple times to his agency’s representative, constantly mentioning the financial burden of advertising and film penalties which were paid off because of his drug trials.
On the morning of December 27, the ‘Parasite’ actor was found dead by the authorities. Confirming the news of his death, his agency stated, “There is no way to contain our sorrow and despair. We respectfully ask that you refrain from spreading false facts based on speculation or speculation and malicious reports based on them so that the deceased's final journey will be in peace.”
Back in October, the ‘Coffee Prince’ star had spoken to reporters, as per Koreaboo. He said, “First of all, I sincerely apologise for the great amount of disappointment I have brought to so many people for being involved in such an unpleasant incident. I would like to bow my head in apology to everyone who has trusted me and supported me all this time. As I delivered through my agency, my position is that I will faithfully participate in the investigation with an honest attitude. I feel very sorry for my family, who is suffering a lot at the moment. I will sincerely and truthfully answer [the questions] during the investigation.”
