Just a few days after the release of ‘Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire’ on Netflix, the streaming giant has released the official teaser of its sequel. ‘Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver’ is touted as the action-packed finale of Zack Snyder’s epic space opera.
The trailer of ‘Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver’ takes the audience into Kora’s world. Kora and her warriors are leaving no stone unturned to prepare to fight against the Motherworld. The people of Veldt know that they stand no chance to win but they have their hopes in Kora’s leadership.
Watch the trailer here.
The people of Veldt gather everything that they can use in their battle. The people practice with knives and rifles. They want to show no mercy to the people of Motherland. Kora tells the villagers “Their nightmare is us, fighting together to defend something we love.”
In an earlier interview, Zack Snyder mentioned that ‘Star Wars’ had inspired him to create this saga. When you watch the trailer, the resemblance hits you. The scene where a character yields a red sword is a nod to ‘Star Wars.’ However, what makes this stand apart is that the story holds its ground and has substance, it is not a copy-paste job. Kora’s strength, determination, and quiet confidence make you root for her. Kora leads the narrative. The larger-than-life visuals of the space and the spaceships impart a feeling of darkness and doom. It makes you realize that the Motherland is a sinister force.
The sequel of ‘Rebel Moon’ continues the journey of Kora and the surviving people who sacrifice everything. They team up with the people of Veldt to defend what was once a peaceful abode for many. The land has become the homeland for those who lost their shelters during the fight against the tyrannical Motherland. The story that narrates how they form bonds and friendships throughout the fight and find courage and strength gives you hope.
Directed and created by Zack Snyder, ‘Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver’ stars Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Doona Bae, and Anthony Hopkins. The sequel is set to stream on Netflix from April 19, 2024, onwards.
