'Salaar Part 1 Ceasefire' directed by Prashanth Neel, released in theatres on December 22 in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. The film stars Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles. It is having a fantastic run at the box office. The film collected Rs 329.62 crore net in India within nine days of its release as per a report in Sacnilk.com,
On Day 9, 'Salaar' has earned Rs 12.50 crore as per early estimates. The report also stated that the Prashanth Neel directorial had an overall 38.01 percent occupancy in the Telugu language, and an overall occupancy of 22.84 percent in the Hindi language on December 30, 2023.
'Salaar', on Day 1, made Rs 95 crore. It has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan's blockbusters of 2023- 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan'. The former had earned Rs 106 crore while the latter minted Rs 129.6 crore in worldwide gross on their opening days. Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Animal' earned Rs 116 crore on the first day.
'Salaar' is set in the fictional city of Khansaar and it revolves around two friends Deva (Prabhas) and Vardha (Prithviraj Sukumaran). The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Eshwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Tinnu Anand and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. The actioner has been produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films and it marks the first collaboration between Prashanth Neel and Prabhas.
The sequel of the film is titled 'Salaar: Part 2 - Shauryanga Parvam'. In an interview with Outlook India, Sriya Reddy said that 'Salaar Part 2' will be more exciting and crazy and the real story will unfold in it.
