Headlined by Vicky Kaushal, 'Sam Bahadur' hit the theatres on December 1. It clashed with Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Animal' at the box office. Though the film opened with a single digit, it saw growth on Day 2 and on Day 3, it collected double-digit figures. But on its first Monday, on Day 4, 'Sam Bahadur' witnessed a drop as it earned only Rs 3.50 crore at the box office, as per a report in Sacnilk.
The Meghna Gulzar directorial had a decent opening on Day 1 as it earned Rs 6.25 crore, collected Rs 9.25 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 10.03 crore on Sunday. The total collection of 'Sam Bahadur now stands at Rs 29.05 crore. It had an overall 22.65% Hindi occupancy on Monday.
Vicky Kaushal plays the titular character Sam Bahadur in the film. It is about India's legendary Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. It shows his sacrifices for the nation and his bravery and victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra play pivotal parts in the war biopic.
The war biopic was made with a budget of Rs 55 crore, according to OTTPlay. It is produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of RSVP Movies.
Meanwhile, despite polarising reactions, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial is minting moolah at the ticket windows. It is all set to enter the Rs 300 crore club now. The action drama already crossed Rs 200 crore within three days of its release.
