Dev, who made his debut in Tamil/ Malayalam bilingual ‘Vaayai Moodi Pesavum’/ ‘Samsaram Arogyathinu Hanikaram’, directed by Balaji Mohan starring Dulquer Salman and Nazriya Nazim, is best known for his performance in ‘Vellai Pookal’ and ‘Oru Naal Koothu’. Now, he is currently seen in Amazon Prime's ‘Sweet Kaaram Coffee’ alongside Lakshmi, Madhoo, Santhy Balachandran.

The actor gets candid about his role and working experience in the show. Dev said, "I play Karthik, a highly rated state cricketer, who is in a relationship with Nivi, played by Santhy. Karthik has his flaws though. He has had a protected upbringing and hasn’t ever gone against authority at home in favour of what is right. He feels Nivi should sacrifice her career because he isn’t bold enough to convince his parents that it is okay and possible to have a career with women who will be equally busy yet have a family together."

Describing his working experience in the show, he said, "First up, Madhoo and Lakshmi ma’am are terrific performers. I grew up watching their films. Sadly though, I only had 1 scene with Madhoo and Lakshmi ma’am which was the penultimate scene in the series but the interesting fact is, this is my second film with Madhoo ma’am. My debut, Vaayai Moodi Pesavum(Tamil) /Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram(Malayalam), had her play Nazriya’s mom. My first conversation with her on sets was about this. We were elated to reminisce about that film and I was glad to be working with her again. I am looking forward to season 2, hoping that I get to share screen space with these two stalwarts. I would love that."

Sharing about the kind of responses he is receiving for the show, he mentioned, "For my part, it has been completely positive. Everyone liked how I treaded a fine line between being a bad guy and a good guy who just made a mistake. I am glad because that’s exactly how I wanted to portray it. As for the show, the women are loving it. So many women can relate to either Lakshmi ma’am, Madhoo, or Santhy in one way or the other. Audiences who like laid back, feel good shows are loving it".

Speaking about the USP of the show, he added, "Relatability. Every viewer will be able to identify with at least one character from their household. Could be your mom, grandmom, dad or even your husband. Also, I feel there is an overdose of movies that rely on action, stunts, and killing. Honestly, the majority of us don’t see that everyday in our environment/household. What you see in Sweet Kaaram Coffee will be something that you can very easily see on a day to day basis. The show has a Malayalam cinema flavour to it, a slice of our lives and that is the USP."
