From 'Badi Mushkil Hai' (Anjaam), 'Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Mein' (Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge), and 'Main Koi Aisa Geet' (Yes Boss) to 'Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha' (Main Hoon Na), and 'Dhoom Taana' (Om Shanti Om), singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has lent his voice for Shah Rukh Khan in over 30 songs in Bollywood. Their collaboration was iconic and successful. It has been so many years since Abhijeet sang for Shah Rukh.
In an interview, the singer was all praise for the Badshah of Bollywood but he also made a shocking claim on him. During a chat with Lehren Retro, Abhijeet said that Khan and his personalities are almost the same and so as their zodiacs. He called SRK a self-made man with self-respect and self-esteem, the qualities he also has. “We don’t have ego, but we have self-respect,” he said.
On the rift between them, Abhijeet said that he tried to resolve the personal differences between them a couple of times, but his efforts went in vain. He called the 'Pathaan' actor a very commercial person who will use others and remove anyone from his path to success. ''Shah Rukh is a very commercial person, he will sideline any person for his success and career. He’ll use them,'' said the 'Chunnari Chunnari' singer.
The singer also said that 'there is no bigger nationalist than Shah Rukh Khan'. ''Labelling him as anti-national is very wrong. Many have attempted to do so, but there is no bigger nationalist than Shah Rukh Khan. Consider the films he has made like Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Swades, Asoka, etc. How can such allegations be made against him, especially when he has always promoted Hindu culture in his movies, Among the Khans, Shah Rukh Khan is the only nationalist. Others don’t really have anything to do with the nation,” he said.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will be next seen in 'Dunki' directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani. It is all set to hit the screens on December 22.
