Actor and judge of celebrity dance reality show, ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’- Arshad Warsi went down the memory lane and recalled the times when he did not had work for three years, and how life changed for him after ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’.
Arshad, who started his career in 1987 as an assistant director to Mahesh Bhatt in the movie ‘Kaash’, had choreographed the title song of ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’.
He made his acting debut in 1996 with the Amitabh Bachchan-produced romantic drama ‘Tere Mere Sapne’. It also stars Chandrachur Singh, Priya Gill and Simran.
The actor is best known for his role as Circuit in the 2003 satirical comedy drama ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. It stars Sanjay Dutt in the lead, with Sunil Dutt, Gracy Singh, Boman Irani, and Jimmy Sheirgill in pivotal roles.
In the new episode of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, actress Anjali Anand created an electrifying vibe with her jhakaas performance on the pulsating track ‘Phatela Jeb’, with her choreographer Danny Fernandes and celebrity choreographer, Ruel Dausan Varindani.
The trio paid a heartwarming tribute to the iconic character ‘Circuit’, leaving Arshad, emotional.
Moved by the performance, Arshad said: “You get a little emotional when you see certain things. There's an effort, a courage that you put into your hard work, and you don't give up; you keep fighting, which I have seen Anjali do all the time. I find that quality very admirable—she doesn't accept defeat. It makes me feel good.”
“After getting into movies, there came a point where I didn't have work for almost three years. But after that, Munna Bhai MBBS happened and there was no looking back.
“I believe in the fact that if you genuinely have talent, then no one can undermine you; if you are genuinely hardworking, and if you don't give up, which I see in Anjali all the time. That's why I feel good; she doesn't give up,” added the ‘Dhamaal’ actor.
Impressed by the performance, judge Malaika Arora said: “There was an authentic flavor in your performance. It didn't seem like you were trying too hard or making an extra effort to impress.
“Of course, hard work was evident, but you were so seamless that it didn't feel like the three of you had just met. It felt like you had been together from the start, and there was no sense that something different was happening here.”
The show also welcomed renowned choreographer and dance expert, Marzi Pestonji.
In a blast from the past, Arshad joined Anjali, Danny, and Ruel on stage.
‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ airs on Sony.
